
Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Disability Support Worker to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Personal Support**: Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- **Health and Safety**: Monitor and manage clients’ health needs, including medication administration, and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- **Emotional Support**: Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
- **Goal Setting**: Collaborate with clients and their families to develop and implement personalised care plans and goals.
- **Household Assistance**: Support clients with household tasks such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and organising their living spaces.
- **Advocacy**: Advocate for clients’ needs and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in all aspects of their care.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients’ progress, incidents, and any changes in their condition.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, family members, and support staff to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
**Qualifications**:
- **Experience**: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- **Skills**: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, empathy, patience, and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
- **Certifications**: NDIS WC, Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- **Other Requirements**: Valid P2 driver’s license OR full drivers license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the role and location.
**Working Conditions**:
- **Environment**: The role may involve working in clients' homes, community settings, or SIL facilities.
- **Hours**: Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- **Physical Demands**: Ability to assist with physical tasks such as lifting or supporting clients, and standing or walking for extended periods.
