About the role
The role of Mental Health Clinician conducts triage, mental health assessment, short term treatment and recovery support to consumers accessing health services for acute mental health issues at an entry point to the mental health service of West Moreton Health. The Mental Health Clinician also collaborates with others to provide clinical leadership by offering advice on assessment, treatment options and risk management as required.
About you
- Operates with a degree of independences and autonomy in a range of settings in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards within the relevant legislation.
- Applies professional judgement to contribute to the understanding of complex presentations in collaboration with professional colleagues, consumers and their families and the community as appropriate.
- Utilises well developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills within a multi-service, multi-disciplinary environment, including negotiation, consultation and conflict resolution.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- This position requires the successful applicant to be an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner within one month of appointment, and undertake roles and functions in accordance with the Mental Health Act 2016. Eligibility requirements include having a minimum of two years' experience working in mental health service provision including training and expertise required to assess persons suspected of having a mental illness; and have regular clinical/professional supervision.
- This position requires the incumbent to participate in a roster covering the service 24 hours and day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
