**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Lecturer in Animation to join School of Creative Practice, Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Academic Division.

The successful applicant will play a central role in designing and delivering Units that are core to all students across the School of Creative Practice in either the Bachelor of Fine Arts and/or the Bachelor of Creative Industries. The successful applicant will work across multiple disciplines in the Creative Industries in ways that align with and build upon the School’s disciplinary strengths. The successful applicant will have excellence in and a reputation for industry engagement, a strong teaching profile with demonstrated positive student feedback, and a track record of research success.

School of Creative Practice sits within the Faculty of Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice, Academic Division and is responsible for Creativity, arts and culture express who we are, reflect our past and shape our futures. **What you need to succeed**
- Completion of a doctoral qualification.
- Demonstrated contemporary practical knowledge and experience, with a strong background in 3D Character Animation for games/film and at least one of the following areas of expertise:
a. Visual Effects and Compositing,
b. Coding for Games,
c. Emerging Screen Technologies including Virtual, Augmented or Extended Realities.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in using contemporary and emerging digital approaches, methods, and tools to develop innovative approaches to learning, curriculum development, research, and industry practice.
- Demonstrated experience in or potential for effective unit-level administration, including leadership of teaching teams.
- Demonstrated strong learning and teaching profile; including scholarly and innovative approaches with demonstrated positive student feedback, as well as successful supervision of higher degree research students in the relevant area(s).
- Demonstrated record of engaged and impactful research in animation, screen production or XR; evidenced for instance by publications in relevant high-quality journals; success in winning competitive research funding from key national and international funding bodies, industry, government or community partners; consultancy with industry or professional bodies.
