**About the Role**:

- Coordinate and manage Councils Infrastructure projects through civil engineering expertise and oversite to deliver projects in accordance with Councils Delivery & Operations Plan.
- Coordinate the Infrastructure Projects team, comprised of development and construction, to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget in line with legislative requirements.
- Coordinate the preparation, release, review and assessment of civil infrastructure tenders and requests for quotes in accordance with Council Procurement Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure Councils adhere to RMCC Ordered Works and State Government funding agreements.
- Review, amend and implement civil engineering designs relating to Councils civil infrastructure program.
- Ensure projects comply with legislative requirements, specifically Safety, Risk, and Quality Assurance in accordance with Councils Safety Management Plans.
- Supervision, administration and management of contracts.
- Contribute to the performance of Council: demonstrate professional conduct, make the best use of knowledge, experience and skills and be accountable for own decisions and actions.
- Contribute to a safe workplace: comply with legislative and organisational requirements and be accountable for own decisions and actions.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.

**About You**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications or undertaking a program of suitable qualifications development. (Equivalent to 3 years F/T).
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills to deal with the members of the public, Councilors, Executive and Council staff.
- Demonstrated high level skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project and Access (or equivalent) with capability of extending into the use of other software packages.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the use of Asset Management Systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, review and implementation of WHS, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management Systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation and management of minor infrastructure contracts and associated contractors.
- Drivers licence, Class C

Desirable criteria:

- Experience in all aspects of transportation infrastructure relating to Construction, Inspection, Asset Management and Maintenance.
- Typically 3 years’ experience in Local Government or an equivalent area of construction industry.
- Experience in GIS systems/data management
- Experience in project management including development of construction programs, budget estimation, monitoring, assurance and achieving compliance with WHS, Quality and Environmental requirements.
