My client is a principal investment fund based in Sydney CBD. They manage several hundred million dollars and have a strong track record of outperformance since inception.
Due to continued growth, my client is looking to appoint an experienced equity analyst to work in their crossover portfolio. The crossover portfolio primarily invests in listed Australian companies (from small to large cap) and will also invest in private market opportunities (e.g. pre-IPO, convertible notes etc.)
Upon successful hire, you will be involved in; idea generation, portfolio construction, monitoring existing investments, leading company meetings, and maintaining relationships with brokers and other industry contacts.
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced equity analyst to join a principal investment fund with a flexible investment mandate, a growing fund and team, a strong track record of outperformance and clear career development opportunities.
**Upon successful hire, you will be involved in the following**:
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of portfolio companies and the sectors they operate in.
- Contribute to portfolio management and construction.
- Generate new investment ideas.
- Manage relationships with brokers and other industry contacts.
- Dissect company financials & perform valuation analysis.
- Liaise with corporates and industry contacts to help form your views.
- Lead meetings with company management.
- 3-6 years of equity research experience.
- Experience covering Australian equities.
- Robust modelling and valuation skills.
- Ideally, some exposure to private markets.
- A passion for financial markets and investment.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail, communication and presentation skills.
