Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers is looking for an energetic, customer-focused **Yard Worker / Wash Bay Assistant **to join the team on a casual basis. In this role, you'll help our team to wash equipment and organise the Yatala Yard for auctions. No auction experience is needed to work in this role Lots of hands-on training will be provided. **The Opportunity**:
Under the direction of the Yard Manager, the Yard Worker / Wash Bay Assistant safely receives, processes, lines up, sales day support and check-out consigned equipment for the auction. Strict adherence to the Ritchie Bros. standard of customer service is expected of the Yard Worker / Wash Bay Assistant at all times. In this position you'll:

- Wash heavy vehicles and equipment
- Receive / release (checks-in/checks-out) consigned equipment for auction
- Uses an auction listing to line up equipment for display prior to auction
- Drive / operate heavy and light equipment (as appropriate)
- Perform facility inspections (per checklists) and provide housekeeping as necessary
- Operate forklift to load / unload stationary row equipment (as appropriate)
- Basic assembly of equipment i.e. dozer blades, etc.
- Checks fluid and fuel levels on equipment
- Recognises that Yard Staff / Wash Bay Assistants are an integral part of the internal communications network in the yard
- Sets out signage, flagging, and trash receptacles for auction day

Here's what you bring:

- Experience operating heavy machinery (highly regarded).
- Able to operate a large 36,000 lbs forklift is an asset.
- Basic computer skills and able to learn new programs quickly.
- A track-record of working safely, and helping others work safely, too.
- You must be able to relate well with customers and team members
- You like to work in a team, helping out wherever needed; but you can also self-start and work on your own.
- You're organised, and can handle lots of tasks at once.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- You like to work hard, but still have fun on the job.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $29.00 - $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
