**YMCA Outside School Hours Care** (OSHC) provides fun, stimulating and safe care for primary and secondary school children before and after school. At OSHC, children have the opportunity to participate in cooking, sport, music, art, dance and so much more.

The Y Queensland’s childcare services has been at the heart of Australian communities for more than 40 years, with our first early learning service opening in Brisbane in 1977 after we identified the need for childcare that focused on helping children grow in body, mind and spirit.

We are currently recruiting for an **Assistant Coordinator** to join our team **YMCA Kurwongbah Outside School Hours Care (OSHC**) Service located in Petrie.

This is a **permanent part-time **position. Your working hours per week will be 34.5 hours during school term and 38 hours during vacation care time.

**About the service**

**YMCA Kurwongbah Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Service** is Located inside Kurwongbah State School. We are licensed for 135 children offering Before and After School Care as well as Vacation Care.

The YMCA Kurwongbah service offers rich, engaging environments for our children to explore, supported by a team that truly cares. This team is made up of committed professionals who put the needs of children first. We have a close partnership with Kurwongbah State School are lucky to work in an absolutely beautiful location.

YMCA Kurwongbah is a wonderful community for children and educators. We are a well-supported and well-resourced service that is expanding in a nature-play direction. Our amazing team is keen to grow to be the best that we can be, so we can help children become the best that they can.

**About the role?**

In this position, you will assist the Service Coordinator with the day-to-day running of the service and management of a team of Educators. You will receive support from a dedicated management team, consisting of the Coordinator, Senior Coordinator Area Coordinator, Regional Manager and the OSHC Manager.

**What will my time look like?**
- The development of quality programs;
- Manage the day to day running of the programs;
- Support the Coordinator with staff management;
- Ensure compliance with policy;
- Undertake administrative requirements;
- Work collaboratively with families and the school community.

**Am I a good match?**
- You are currently studying or completed (or close to completion) a relevant qualification in Childcare or Teaching (Minimum of Diploma in Children Services);
- Can demonstrate experience in assisting with programming and a passion for providing quality childcare;
- Can demonstrate experience in maintaining effective administration and correct documentation in an OSHC service or similar;
- Possess excellent customer service skills;
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- You have a fantastic sense of fun and a tremendous imagination
- You hold or be willing to obtain a current First Aid and CPR certification
- You hold a Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one
- Possess strong NQF knowledge (Desirable)
