As a **Junior Buyer**, you will report to the Channel Marketing Manager and will be responsible for assisting in leading the strategy, development, commercialization, launch of new products, range review of existing and future state in COS (Company owned stores) under the accessory category. This will manage the total product life cycle of paint accessories in Australia in line with the Architectural Division’s strategic plan.
**Responsibilities**:
**Planning & Strategy**
- Understanding analytics to measure viability, market opportunity, product and brand performance over the product life cycle
- Work closely with marketing, sales and operations to help identify new product opportunities from local and global suppliers build a new product pipeline that aligns with the Business Strategy.
- Understand stock management processes and utilize to drive effective product implementation
- Management of SKUs and pricing for the local market.
**Project & Product Management**
- Manage the review of products and suppliers into our COS network and recommend changes to increase sales, profitability, stock turns and GMROI
- Assist in the implementation of the ranges into the COS network, ensuring alignment to business objectives and priorities working closely with the Sales Team to ensure appropriate product training is delivered.
- This includes Preparing Initiatives Calendar, Launch Alert Documents, post program analysis to evaluate success, Sales Presenters, and any other marketing material required by Trade Sales Team to be effective in selling the New Product/Innovation to the customer.
- Assist in the implementation of new products line extensions that will deliver an increase in sales
- This can include and is not limited to design, development and management to market.
- Develop promotional calendar
- Inventory control
- Correct inventory levels in store
- Store range based on demographics & geographics of store locations
- Work closely with Supply Chain analyst
- Pricing and invoice management
- Supplier rebates management
- Key contact for all paint accessories suppliers
**Financials**
- Deliver top line growth projects within budget
- Work within agreed expense budget
- Maximize profit contribution for the product portfolio
**People, Teamwork and Relationships**
- Effectively coordinate product projects between purchasing, Sales, Marketing and Operations functions (cross functional leadership)
**EH&S**
- Achieve zero Medically Treated Incident, Lost time and First Aid injuries.
- Ensure individual housekeeping to agreed standard
**ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Build strong relationships with internal cross-functional teams and external agencies.
- Implement and maintain company policies and procedures.
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Perform role in accordance with PPG corporate values.
- Achieve goals as determined in the PLP
- Ad hoc duties
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- Proven success working in a fast-paced environment where strategic brand-building efforts are complemented by hard-driving promotional activities.
- Project management skills
- SAP / Power BI knowledge / skills
- Ability to manage complexity
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce or similar with a Marketing focus
- The ability to undertake reasonable travel
