Our client is a family-owned Free Range Broiler Chicken business who produces over 6 million chickens a year across all their farms. Since their inception, they have experienced remarkable growth, supplying major specialist supermarkets and local retailers and butchers. Located in Port Wakefield (1 hour North-West of Adelaide), one of our client's Broiler Farms is seeking an
**Assistant Farm Manager** to join their team.

**Your Role**

As the
**Assistant Farm Manager**, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the farm, which comprises of 10 sheds, with an annual production of 2 million chickens. Working with the onsite Farm Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of chicken welfare and farming practices.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Monitoring the chickens
- Managing feed and water
- Ensuring proper management
- Daily reporting and record keeping
- Cleaning sheds and equipment
- Maintaining the property and facilities
- Assist with any other operation tasks as requested by the manager
- Leading by example and managing the rooster and working alongside the team
- Ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, as the farms are audited by the RSPCA every six months
- Guaranteeing the well-being of chickens, including healthy litters and disease prevention

**About You**

Enthusiastic and willing to learn, you will possess the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders, including handling contractors and processors’ staff.

To be considered for the position, you will be able to address the following criteria:

- Availability to work on weekends and willingness to follow a rostering system, including alarm calls
- Reliability and a commitment to being on duty
- A valid Driver's License
- Effective interpersonal skills, capable of working with a variety of people
- Physical fitness and energy
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Eagerness to learn and invest the required time
- Experience in multi-produce management, preferably with a background in animal management in agriculture
