We are currently seeking a Transmission Substation Scheduler to join our team at our South Metro Depot on a Permanent Full Time Basis.
This position is responsible for the preparation, planning, work scheduling and coordination of project and maintenance activities, within budget and time constraints within designated CAPEX or OPEX portfolio.
The position is responsible for the creation and coordination of execution packages, inclusive of work breakdown structures, day-to-day work staging and resource allocation utilising the relevant scheduling tool.
**Your Role in Action**
- Profile project work via MS Project, develop Gantt charts, milestones, and sequencing for OPEX / CAPEX projects to meet the required in-service date
- Proactively coordinate and liaise with peers and Operations team(s) to ensure resource allocation meets the plan’s objective and resource risks are identified and mitigated in advance
- Directly contribute to quality checks and updates to the Transmission Work plan databases
- Promote continuous improvement within the team by sharing ideas, practises, and suggestions of how the schedule and dispatch team can work with greater cohesion and efficiency
- Create and maintain high-quality works break down structures ensuring no outstanding activities remain which would hinder the schedule of work
- Identify and manage priority works in line with Western Power’s commitment to deliver on time and within budget
**What Makes You a Great Fit**
- Relevant tertiary or Trade based qualifications with electrical background preferred
- Strong scheduling skills and experience built up over at least 5+ years
- Sound Transmission experience with a good knowledge of the entire network, assets and the requirements for planning and scheduling work
- Good knowledge of Transmission Network assets and associated construction/commissioning work practice
- Experience with Western Power or equivalent management systems, such as Cognos, Ellipse, WSMS, Spidaweb, P6 literate, MS Project etc.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, complimented by a desire to develop influencing/negotiation skills
- A desire to implement change and innovation, both internally and via contract arrangements
- Strong experience with Microsoft office suite and project management systems are essential
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
