Drainage Labourer

One of our clients, a local council within the Camberwell area, is looking for a Drainage Labourer to join their passionate team.

This Job is a casual role; however, it will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.

Your shift will start at 7.00am - 3.45pm

Pay Rate: $33.65 Per Hour + Superannuation.

Starting: ASAP.

The purpose of the role is to operate mechanical plant, trucks and vehicles and to provide physical labour to assist in the construction and maintenance of assets for example drains, roads and footpaths. You will also provide physical labour for cleansing duties.

**You will Need**:
A current Victorian Drivers License (Heavy Rigid License highly desirable).

Demonstrated experience in the use of a range of mechanical plant.

Ability to communicate, liaise and interact appropriately and effectively with the general public, clients, engineers, tradesmen.

Demonstrated experience in drainage/plumbing maintenance.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (pre-employment medical required)

Ability to read and translate information from plans and standard drawings into field operations.

Knowledge of OH&S requirements relating to Infrastructure Service operations and working in public open spaces.

**You will be**:
Providing physical labour for concrete and asphalt works including breaking out, spreading and compaction of crushed rock and loading and unloading of goods and materials.

Drainage works associated with inspections, repairs and cleaning of pits and drainage lines.

General cleansing duties, working on nature strips and tree root removal.

Assisting with setting out and installation of signs and traffic management devices in accordance as well as assisting in the control and direction of traffic through worksites.

You may be required to be “on call” for emergency type works approximately one week per month and attend to hazards as they arrive daily.

Maintaining and recording accurate records of works undertaken on a daily basis, including measurements and performance.

Please Note - a Police Check, WWCC and Covid Vaccination status will all need to be obtained upon placement.
