**Position Information**:
Wahroonga Public School, founded in 1944, is situated on Garigal land and acknowledges the GariNgai people. Affectionately known as 'The Bush School' due to its native Blue Gum High Forest setting and attractive grounds, natural and built, including two in-ground swimming pools and an outdoor amphitheatre. Current enrolment is 585 students, across 22 mainstream classes and 3 support classes, with 44% of students from a non-English language background. The school caters for all students and prides itself on a culture of inclusion and participation, utilising innovative technologies, supporting a culture of high expectations and quality teaching and learning. Students enjoy a large range of extra-curricular activities as well as a renowned expansive band program. **Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. High order instructional leadership to further develop a culture of evidence informed decision making, build staff capacity and work side by side with teachers and leaders, to continually enhance pedagogical practice.

2. Demonstrated capacity to proactively communicate and visibly engage with the entire school community in authentic ways that are culturally sensitive and innovative with a strong commitment to enhancing partnerships with parents and the wider community.

3. Clear evidence of being an open, collaborative and resilient leader with the ability to make informed and strategic decisions in the best interest of students, staff and parents.

4. Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering effective and proactive student wellbeing practices.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
