**About the role**
The L&D Specialist / Corporate Trainer role is a newly created role in the Learning and Organisational Development Team. This is an opportunity for a professional and strategic L&D Specialist to join the Shire and make a difference in delivering L&D solutions to develop skills, knowledge and behaviours aligned to our Values and organisational objectives.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Learning & Organisational Development core responsibilities include:
- Provide expert advice and hands on delivery of a broad range of learning & development needs in local work areas and organisation wide.
- Partner with Teams and Units to create learning content that is relevant, fun, engaging and interactive.
- Contribute to developing the annual L&D program
- Building and delivering programs to build our staff capability - from face to face through to e-learning
- Contribute to the implementation and management of a structured Organisational Capability Framework and associated programs
- Conduct evaluation to regularly review, assess, and report on L&D programs
**About you**
- Relevant tertiary qualification in L&D / Human Resources with a Certificate or Diploma in Training Design and Development or lesser formal qualification with extensive experience or equivalent Local Government/public sector experience in training and development related role
- Engaging and charismatic trainer with a strong customer focus and communication skills
- Experience in working closely with key stakeholders to identify training needs whilst building strong relationships
- Have a high attention to detail coupled with experience in developing tools and resources for staff to access to support their learning
- Have tools and methods to evaluate and assess the quality of training to measure impact of L&D activities and demonstrate performance and behaviour change
- Experienced with LMS, content creation systems, SCORM packages and associated tools with a focus on learner experience
