The NALHN Outpatient Department (OPD) Administration Manager is responsible for the coordination of patient access to outpatient appointment and services. The role is responsible for operational efficiencies associated with NALHN and DHW Outpatient Waitlist and Service management.
The OPD Manager is the primary contact for administrative staff with collaboration with clinical staff on the operations of the unit and provides operational advice on the achievement of performance targets and national benchmarks.
Role responsibilities include:
- Providing logístical management of outpatient services for patients in line with the Department of Health’s Policy Framework for Outpatient service delivery with a particular focus on consultation and liaison with key stakeholders within services (which include but are not confined or limited to allied health professionals, heads of units, specialists, Outpatient service clinicians, NUM’s, NC’s, Administration Managers responsible for independent OPD service provision), whose activity impacts on waiting lists.
- Maintaining communication between Northern Adelaide Local Health Network and the Department of Health through participation in regular meetings, projects and workshops and facilitation of effective communication.
- Collaborate with the clinical and divisional teams to set goals, determine priorities and delivery of services.
- Liaising on a regular basis with the Divisional Directors of service providers to ensure that NALHN's Outpatient service delivery, from an operational and strategic perspective, are aligned to achieving the objectives of the Department of Health’s policy framework for Outpatient Services.
- Financial responsible for reviewing and maintaining efficient service within budget
- Manage, develop and monitor team performance, ensuring that:
- Policies and procedures are correctly interpreted and accurately applied.
- Information and Data quality are maintained and able to be reported
- Key performance indicator targets are achieved.
- Contribute to the development, review and implementation of policies, plans and procedures.
