We’re seeking a Practice and Compliance Specialist to join our passionate central Early Learning team. Reporting to the Governance, Care and Practice Manager, you’ll provide expert coaching and support to early learning services across NSW and ACT - strengthening pedagogy, inclusive practices and compliance with child-safe and legislative standards.
This is a role for someone who leads with empathy, communicates with purpose, and thrives in a dynamic, people-centred environment.
**What you’ll do**:
- Drive consistent, inclusive, high-quality practice and child-safe environments across Uniting's early learning and outside school hours care services.
- Work closely with Centre Directors and Area Managers to prepare for and navigate the Assessment and Rating process.
- Coach and mentor Early Childhood Teachers and educators to improve pedagogical practice through reflection, evidence-informed learning, and positive reinforcement.
- Support services to implement policies and procedures aligned with National Law, Regulations and Uniting’s internal quality frameworks.
- Lead professional learning, policy implementation and system improvements that embed continuous quality improvement.
- Develop tools and strategies to help services meet their compliance obligations while maintaining a focus on meaningful, child-centred delivery.
- Build strong, respectful partnerships - even in complex or high-pressure settings - with service leaders and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Represent Uniting in sector forums, strategic projects, and collaborative external relationships.

You're not only an experienced and knowledgeable early childhood leader - you're also a people person who builds trust, navigates challenges with professionalism and brings others along on the journey. You’re confident working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly and you remain calm, focused and solutions-oriented under pressure.
**You will also have**:
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ experience in service leadership and leading through an Assessment and Rating process
- Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Law and Regulations, and Early Years Learning Frameworks
- Experience with Child Safe Standards and/or child protection frameworks
- A strong understanding of inclusion, compliance and evidence-based early childhood practice
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills - with the ability to build trust and engage confidently with diverse leadership styles
- Experience using digital documentation platforms
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly across NSW and ACT
