Identifies hazards, assesses risks to health and safety, put appropriate safety controls in place and provide advice about accident prevention and occupational health to management and employees. Assisting other departments as required.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Promotes work health and safety within an organisation
- Inspects workplace and workplace equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations and to identify hazards and risks
- Ensures that workplace conforms with organisational procedures and safety standards
- Works with contractors to ensure the safety of worksites and work practices
- Ensures personal protective equipment (such as hi-vis, cold environmental clothing, steel cap shoes, dust masks, safety glasses, footwear and safety helmets) are being used in workplaces
- Ensures dangerous materials are correctly stored
- Ensures an organisation is aware of, and complies with, all legislation relating to its duty of care, workplace activities and the use of its plant, equipment and substances
- Records and reports hazards, incidents and accidents, injuries and health issues within the workplace
- Assists with the investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, and recommend remedial action
- Conducts training sessions for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety practices
- Assists with the rehabilitation of workers after accidents or injuries and make sure they experience a satisfactory return to work
- Coordinates emergency procedures, fire wardens and first aid officers
- Communicates with management to report on the status of WH&S programs
- Checks facility safety, security, cleanliness and battery recharging
- Must be flexible to work in split shift / rotating roster / Saturdays
- Must display high level of safety and professional work standards
- Must be versatile and keen to work in both DRY & WET and in different departments as per business needs

**Non-Essential functions**
- Assists in other departments where necessary.

**Qualifications**
- Education/Training: Diploma or Degree
- Licenses/Certifications: Forklift Licence is an advantage, Advanced RTW Certificate, Food Safety Supervisor Certificate

- Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel & Google Suites
