**About the Clinical Education Unit**

The Clinical Education Unit (CEU) is responsible for clinical education governance at Austin Health within a Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment. The CEU has three pillars of education: Allied Health, Medicine and Nursing. Each pillar has a leader who is responsible for education and ensuring the workforce is well positioned to meet the National Safety and Quality in Health Service Standards. This integrated approach to education and training aims to ensure that Austin Health has knowledgeable, skilled staff which is reflected in the quality of care to our patients. The CEU has a dedicated education precinct based in the Austin tower complex as well as a state-of-the-art Simulation Centre.

**About the role**

Part time role - 12.5 hours per week.

The Laboratory Assistant Simulation Centre position is responsible for coordinating the general operations of the Simulation Centre which entails setup of equipment and consumables for education sessions and clean-up at the end of each session where possible. Also, to oversee the Centre's consumables and supplies and maintain stock as required as well as assisting with the maintenance and general running of the centre.

A regular day will see you:

- Set-up equipment and consumables, which may include animal tissue when required, for education sessions in the Centre
- Assist in the general maintenance of the Centre
- Ensure that adequate supplies of consumables are available
- Monitor consumable usage
- Monitor and record statistics on the usage of the simulation Centre.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Experience in a learning laboratory environment within a hospital, university, or school (strongly preferred).
- Experience with basic computer skills.
- Highly developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills including the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team to facilitate best practice
- Be self-motivated with clear self-direction
