**If you're ready to make a real impact, read on**
We’re a Sydney-based debt solutions business dedicated to helping Australians overcome bad credit and long-term financial hardship. Our mission is to guide clients toward lasting financial freedom by offering affordable, personalised debt management plans that are realistic, supportive, and results driven.
We are poised to grow and we’re looking for a mature and highly experienced Credit Repair/Debt Management Specialist to join our team. This is more than just a job — it’s an opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven company where your skills and empathy can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
**About the role**:
In this key position, you’ll be responsible for delivering strategic, ethical, and outcomes-focused support to clients needing credit repair and debt relief. You’ll manage each case from start to finish — analysing credit reports, identifying solutions, and implementing tailored action plans. You’ll also communicate with creditors and credit bureaus, advocating for fair outcomes on behalf of clients. Most importantly, you'll provide consistent care, education, and support to ensure every client feels heard, respected, and empowered — regardless of their circumstances.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and managing all aspects of debt negotiation with creditors.
- Handle complex debt cases, including conducting irresponsible lending reviews and assessing opportunities for debt reduction, interest waivers, or moratoriums.
- Negotiate with creditors to establish affordable payment plans based on clients' financial positions.
- Review and verify client financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy in negotiations.
- Respond to client queries regarding debt matters and provide regular updates on the status of negotiations and outstanding balances.
- Track creditor performance, establish KPIs, and report progress to leadership.
- Maintain and enhance best-practice debt management and credit control procedures.
- Follow up on missed payments and support clients through ongoing or renegotiated hardship arrangements.
- Prepare and submit complaints to AFCA, including attending conciliations and communicating with case managers and the Ombudsman.
- Liaise with internal teams, including IT, to support the development and enhancement of in-house software tools.
- Report to the Managing Director for final decisions on debt removal, fee rebates, or escalation of negotiations.
**To be successful in this role, you will**:
- Bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Demonstrate high attention to detail, excellent time management, and strong organisational skills
- Communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally
- Be friendly, customer-centric, and committed to delivering exceptional service
- Show initiative and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Possess solid negotiation skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure
- Be a confident and supportive leader, capable of motivating others and building positive working relationships
To succeed in this role, you'll ideally bring at least 5 years of experience in debt relief or debt management, including a minimum of 3 years leading a small team within a fast-paced environment.
If you’ve consistently demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams, and you bring a solutions-focused mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous operational improvement—we want to hear from you.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for the right person to grow with a business that’s making a real impact.
