As a field assistant you will provide effective support to the pineapple breeding program conducted on and from Maroochy Research Facility, Nambour specifically to assist in the harvesting, planting and multiplication of pineapple plants and general maintenance of planted fields and nursery stock.While the majority of the work will consist of plant propagation by various methods, other duties will include;
- Assist with planting of fields of pineapple including trial designed layouts both on MRF and regional farms;
- Harvest pineapple field trials both on MRF and regional farms;
- Maintain pineapple fields and nursery stock free of weeds;
- Fertilise and provide care for pineapple nursery stock;
- Organise materials and equipment for research activities;
The successful applicant will be expected to complete annual mandatory on-line training to comply with DAF's code of conduct and other corporate obligationsThis work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
