Overview:

- The position of Public Health Medical Registrar undertakes work placements to satisfy training requirements of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM) within an accredited specialist training position. The incumbent may either rotate through various three - six-month attachments or remain in a 12-month placement for each contract period. Regardless of placement, the work undertaken will contribute to programs, research or policy development that will improve the health of people in South Australia at a population level.

**Criminal History Screening Requirement**
- A National Police Certificate (NPC) for employment involving ‘Unsupervised Contact with Vulnerable Groups’ is required for this position (E.g. aged care employment or work involving vulnerable clients)
- A DHS ‘Working With Children Check’ (WWCC) is required for this position

**Immunisation Risk for this position is Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)**

SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

**Special Conditions**
- Eligible for admission to the training program of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM), which includes a Master of Public Health or equivalent that satisfies the AFPHM requirements.
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent,
- Registrable for the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
