**About us**

This role sits within the Design and Sustainable Planning (DSP) group in the Built Environment Division. DSP is responsible for advising on and facilitation of good court building design, planning and sustainability for Victorian Courts and Tribunals. DSP does this by operating continuously throughout the lifecycle of CSV's built assets, actively engaging and effectively communicating across all jurisdictions to collaboratively develop and deliver good design solutions. In this context, good design is legible, functional, safe and sustainable for all users.

**About the role**

The Environmental Sustainability Lead reports directly to the Senior Advisor Design and is responsible for design, project coordination and stakeholder communications.

The Environmental Sustainability Lead has a diverse range of responsibilities including carriage of the development of Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) guide, project reviews, managing the transition to Net Zero, regular internal communications regarding the activities of the role, and seeking support from CSV executives. This role will work closely with court staff and courts partners to deliver projects and initiatives successfully and in alignment with Court Services Victoria objectives.

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated understanding of environmental sustainability, standards and frameworks and experience in the implementation of energy efficient built assets. You will also have strong stakeholder engagement experience, project management capability and critical thinking skills.

You will have experience in
- Identification of organisational climate and sustainability priorities to enable the recommendation of long term objectives and targets.
- Specialist knowledge of current legislation, policies and contemporary developments and trends in sustainability, climate risk and climate action.
- Successfully coordinating stakeholder groups with diverse and complex requirements, across multiple projects.
- Working with green building rating systems such as Greenstar, NABERS, ISCA or others is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate environmental sustainability into projects at early stages of their development. Experience in the design of courts preferred.
