**Key Responsibilities**

Teaching and Learning
- Deliver independent teaching in the relevant discipline and coordinate or lead other staff as required.
- Ensure effective and engaging learning is taking place in the classroom, provide feedback and support to students, and assess student learning outcomes using both formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments and report student progress to relevant parties.
- Identify and support students who are at risk of failing and implement timely intervention strategies which should be recorded in student’s RTOM.
- Participate in teaching and learning meetings and collaborate with other teaching staff.
- Pursue new and effective teaching methodologies and strategies.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and Professional Development
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance the quality of teaching and stay up to date with current and emerging principles and practices.
- Develop, trial, and implement improved teaching methods.
- Maintain active membership of professional and/or industry connections.

Service to the College
- Report incidents of potential breaches of the student's Code of Conduct or other policies governing students.
- Report incidents where staff or students are not showing care for the physical facilities of Acknowledge Education.
- Report health and safety risks and incidents and arrange first aid treatment when necessary.
- Assist with duties required to advance the fieldwork placement program.
- Perform other administrative duties as directed.

**Qualifications**
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Extensive hospitality and /or tourism leadership experience coupled with a minimum of master's degree in tourism, hospitality or in food and beverage environment.
- Must be able to relate to current gastronomic practices and standards in the field.
- Proven cross-cultural communicator who is empathetic towards students, specifically international students’ needs.
- Report incidents of potential breaches of the student's Code of Conduct or other policies governing students.

Desirable
- Completion, or enrolment in PhD in an area related to the area of teaching is desirable.
- Relevant tertiary teaching experience with demonstrated teaching achievements and results.
- The ability to improve teaching methods and the ability and willingness to use technology or other innovative strategies for teaching and learning and for engaging students.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and the ability and willingness to contribute to professional collaborations and academic administration.
- Experience teaching in an educational setting with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
