Specialist Cardiac Physiologist - Contractor Position
We are looking for an energetic, efficient and professional individual for the role of Specialist Cardiac Physiologist. The primary purpose of the role is to undertake day to day best practice delivery of echocardiography testing and scanning procedures for Advara HeartCare patients. This role has a focus on absolute commitment to the delivery of professional clinical services to patients, referrers and doctors whilst maintaining and achieving quality, cost and productivity targets for the business.
**What you’ll do**:

- Manage patients and operate cardiac ultrasound and testing equipment in accordance with professional standards, to obtain the appropriate and optimal cardiac images and information to support medical diagnosis by a Cardiologist and subsequent management of pathological findings
- Receive and correctly interpret requests from referrers for cardiac procedures to be performed on patients
- Correctly identify all patients in accordance with company/professional protocols
- Investigate patient medical history and details of previous relevant reports
- Document patient’s condition, with emphasis on the characteristics, location and extent of any pathology, when present
- Consistently deliver high levels of patient care and customer service and demonstrate a strong commitment to building patient and referrer satisfaction and loyalty
- Greet and farewell patients in a caring, friendly and professional manner
- Anticipate and respond immediately to all patient, carer and referrer enquiries, address their needs as a priority, and ensure follow-up as required
- Build strong and cooperative relationships with referrers, and in particular regarding their urgent/complex requests and requirements
- Explain procedures and provide instructions to patients in clear, simple, accurate and concise terms, ensuring understanding and that any questions or concerns are addressed
- Work closely with managers, Cardiologists and all staff to ensure a duty of care is provided to all patients, to promote and maintain quality standards within each clinic, and provide a safe working environment for all staff, patients and visitors
- Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with industry quality management standards, laws and regulations, company operational and administration management systems, policies and procedures. and clinical procedures and protocols

**Who you are**:

- Have sound clinical skills in the field of cardiac ultrasound and the ability to provide sound clinical guidance and coaching in complex situations.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the physical principles and technology of diagnostic echocardiography
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying at the forefront of developments in cardiac ultrasound techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with a demonstrated ability to show a friendly, sensitive and professional approach when dealing with patients.
- Proven experience in working effectively in a team environment with the ability to adapt quickly and calmly to changing routines and priorities.
- Ability to be proactive, anticipate needs and action accordingly - forward think and forward plan
- Attention to detail and pride in delivering consistently accurate work
- Bring a positive, enthusiastic and ‘can-do’ attitude to work
- Take a partnering approach with managers and stakeholders

**Qualifications**:

- Post graduate qualification in the field of cardiac ultrasound and current registration with Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) as an Accredited Medical Sonographer (Cardiac).
- Current Basic Life Support / CPR Certificate preferred
