**About the role**:

- The Principal Functional Consultant supports the Communities and Families Portfolio and is responsible for leading the development and implementation of various solutions and initiatives within the program.
- The role also includes gathering requirements and analysing the requirements against the product leading up to the design, providing expertise on functional requirements. The role is pivotal in planning various releases across the program area and ensuring best practices are followed

**About you**:
**Can you demonstrate**:

- Providing strong project management and delivery expertise by ensuring the timely, on-budget, high-quality delivery of projects and enhancements that meets customer expectations.
- Demonstrating how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
- Providing innovative advice to stakeholders in relation to functional and non-functional requirements and design opportunities including cross program implications.
- Ensuring compliance with government, eHealth, and ETB strategies and policies, including adherence to the PDM and other endorsed methodologies.

**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**

**Qualifications**
- A relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role.
- Certification in PRINCE 2 or other project management methodology is highly desirable.

**Specialist Expertise**
- It is desirable to have knowledge and experience of Agile Projects and methodologies.
- Knowledge of the department and its operating processes and information systems is essential.
