Seasonal Forestry Worker

We're looking for passionate and motivated Seasonal Forestry Workers to join our team and assist with diverse outdoor tasks across various locations in New South Wales. This is your chance to be part of an essential team to protect and maintain our forests.

- Competitive remuneration with a base salary of $62,944 including weekend penalty rates, public holidays and additional loading for fire-fighting duties

**About the role**:
As a Seasonal Forestry Worker, the role will vary depending on local conditions, with a primary focus on forest maintenance & fire preparedness. You’ll be part of our fire readiness strategy and available for fire roster duties. Expect extended hours, shifts, or days under physically demanding conditions, and be on-call at times, depending on the fire danger levels in your location.
**You’ll be involved in a variety of activities such as**:

- Plantation maintenance activities (incl. brush cutting, pruning)
- Road and fire trail maintenance
- Bushfire mitigation & prevention (incl. firefighting)
- Hazard reduction burning
- Building and facilities maintenance
- Vehicle and equipment upkeep
- Assisting with operations for other functions (Roading, Planning, Silviculture)

**Essential skills required**:

- Demonstrated experience or skills in forestry, farming, outdoor, or construction work.
- Ability to work as part of a team, meeting deadlines and standards.
- A valid driver’s license - provisional and above
- A positive attitude and commitment to our core values.

**Highly regarded (but not essential) Skills & Experience**:

- Truck licence (MR, HR etc.)
- Experience with heavy plant operation or chainsaws.
- Prior bushfire fighting experience.
- First aid, use of chemicals, 4WD and off road, or any other relevant competencies.
- Studying or holding qualifications in Forestry, Environmental Science, or Natural Sciences.

**Pre-employment screening requirements**:The successful applicant will be required to complete**:

- Drug and Alcohol Screening
- Medical Assessment
- Fire Task-Based Assessment (TBA)
