Mechanical Fitter

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at our _Chullora_ facilities in the suburb of Canterbury-Bankstown. We are seeking a passionate and energetic individual with a proactive mindset who is committed to providing an effective professional service. This role will be responsible for solely providing _preventative maintenance support _across the production plant.

This is a full time position with the potential to earn $60,000 - $80,000 or more with additional allowances and/or overtime. We operate Monday to Friday on permanent morning or afternoon shifts, take your pick, early riser or night owl, with regular opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

- Ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Engage in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliance to ensure equipment and facilities are in optimum condition for their intended use.
- Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.
- Demonstrates ability to identify faults through the use of fault finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems.
- Participate and be a viable role with any existing or upcoming projects.

About you:

- Certificate III or above qualifications in hydraulics or pneumatics; and/or
- Certificate IV Engineering Mechanical Special Class; and/or
- Certificate IV Fluid Power (Pneumatics)
- Ability to MIG and TIG Weld Stainless steel highly desired
- Forklift Ticket highly desired
- Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures.
- Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired.
- Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced modern manufacturing environment FMCG - (_food experience would be highly regarded although not essential_)
