**Corporate Communications Manager**

**What can you expect?**

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Corporate Communications Manager to join the Marsh Marketing and Communications team. We drive our purpose - to protect and promote possibility - for our clients, the community and each other.

Our team is collaborative, always managing multiple projects and looking for ways to continuously improve. Telling our story, showcasing our expertise through insights and ensuring our clients see Marsh in channels that showcase our leadership is a key responsibility of this role. You will see the bigger picture and at the same time, know the small details are what make a strong corporate communications function.

You will have accountability for developing our corporate communications strategy and all aspects of delivery including:

- Strategy and planning: Own the development and delivery of the regional communications strategy in collaboration with the regional marketing leader, incorporating internal comms, client comms and media engagement
- Media relations: Engage with and develop relationships with key journalists to achieve consistent coverage for Marsh on areas identified as important to our external voice as well as reactive media response
- Corporate affairs and issues management: involvement in managing issues and corporate affairs
- Framework development: Put in place structures and frameworks to ensure consistency and regularity around communications. You will also need to ensure all communication activities meet branding, editorial, legal and compliance and other relevant guidelines
- Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across the Pacific and our global community to understand business priorities and develop appropriate communication responses
- Internal communications: Create and execute internal communication plans and strategies to help educate, inform, and engage colleagues. This includes supporting our Pacific Executive team and developing and maturing impactful internal channels for message cut through, delivering CEO communications strategy
- Client communications and external story development: Develop client alerts on key topics as well as crafting media-worthy stories based on proactively scouring the news for relevant topics we can be reactive on, and work with internal experts to develop client/media/owned channel content that is timely
- Business continuity: Be the Communications representative on our business continuity group
- Marketing strategy alignment: Closely align the communication strategy and approach to our marketing strategy to drive business growth
- PR agency management: Subject to budget approval, drive the RFP process for regional PR agency selection, manage PR agency, develop regional media relations strategy, draft and distribute media releases, pitch for media interviews and coverages, organises media briefings, and develop media engagement and skills across the Pacific leadership team

**We will count on you to**:

- Have proven success in driving effective media relations in a large organisation, a strong understanding of the B2B media environment, and experience in managing PR agency relationships
- Help build our brand internally through effective communications strategies
- Manage your time well, knowing your deadlines and how to prioritise and project manage including working on multiple initiatives
- Be curious; about the industry, the areas we have expertise in, marketing and communication trends and ideas, and bring this into the work you deliver in the form of ideas and new angles
- Have the ability to turn complex technical information into accessible information for a broad audience
- Help us develop a narrative that is compelling and engaging for both internal and external audiences
- Be outcomes focussed

**What you need to have**:

- A degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Business/Commerce with a major in one of these areas
- A minimum 8 years’ experience in a communications team
- Strong communications fundamentals - grammar, copywriting, editing
- You should be comfortable managing crisis communications and you’ll be a key liaison point for the business continuity program
- Marsh is a global organisation and part of this role involves building networks and connections globally and within a matrix rep
