**About the Role**:
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking an Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer to join our team within the Kumangka Padninthi Health and Wellbeing Unit, based at Lyell McEwin Hospital.

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is a leading provider of public healthcare services in South Australia.

Aboriginal Primary Health provides services directly to specific targeted groups such as women, children, Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and other vulnerable groups, as well as working in partnership with other providers and organisations, particularly general practice and Medicare Locals.

As an Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing culturally appropriate support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their families. Your responsibilities will include:

- facilitating effective communication between patients, their families, and healthcare professionals
- ensuring cultural safety and bridging cultural gaps to enhance patient experiences
- advocating for the rights and needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients
- providing emotional support and practical assistance to patients and families during their hospital stay
- collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure culturally responsive and holistic care
- promoting awareness and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures within the healthcare setting

To be eligible for this position at **ASO3 classification**, you must hold a Cert III in Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Certificate III (Practice or Community Care).

To be eligible for this position at **ASO4 classification**, you must hold a Cert IV in Aboriginal &/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Certificate III (Practice or Community Care).
