**The Role**

We're looking for a Solution Lead to join our Financial Products Web Team (FPWEB). This is a small but growing team focused on our additional offerings outside of our traditional Health Insurance products. This role is essentialto ensure the smooth operation and advancement of all FPWEB initiatives. You will be involved in decoupling initiatives, support, asset management, migration projects and feature integration. Within this role you will also be responsible for leading a small team to undertake all development activities required to deliver technology solutions that meet business needs. In this role you will be hands on with the code and to be involved in engineering with a focus on backend development but some additional front end.

This is a perfect opportunity for a Senior Engineer to take on a Lead type role whilst still retaining hands on but taking on more leadership responsibilities. If you are a seasoned Solution Lead this may not be the right role for you.

**The Responsibilities**:

- Design and develop components to support architectural test patterns using best practice and design patterns.
- Translate product management expectations into fully developed functionality that meets the customers requirements.
- Perform production support activities if needed depending on how the team has chosen to do Dev and Ops activities.
- Collaborate, experiment, and contribute to an agile software team.
- Contribute to system analysis, solution (functional & technical) design and feasibility activities.
- Champion and improve our way of working across the team.
- Create and be an active participant and thought leader within Community of Practices (COPs)
- Drives continuous improvement and constantly demonstrates a capability improvement mindset.

**About You**
- Extensive hands on experience with Java and relevant frameworks.
- Strong experience with web app integration and general integration experience.
- Hands-on experience with React and similar frontend technologies.
- Any experience with AEM Content Management System would be ideal but not essential.
- Proficient in designing pipelines, branching strategies, and managing mono-repos.
- Knowledge in enterprise integrations, design principles, architecture frameworks, and processes.
- Ideally some documentation skills with the ability to produce client-ready solution architecture documents and business-friendly presentations.
- Some mentoring/leadership experience would be ideal but not essential.
- Deep understanding of service integration concepts, particularly with RESTful services and SOAP-based web services.
- Proven ability to provide solutions to challenges in scalability, performance, availability, reliability, and security.
- Cloud experience ideally with AWS, GCP or Azure however not essential.
