Eastern Beaches is a community centre in the middle of Maroubra meeting the needs of the local community.
The volunteer Corps Receptionist role provides client friendly operational support through receptionist services as required including but not limited to welcoming clients, responding to telephone calls, interpreting and catering to the initial welfare and needs of the clients and performing general administration duties consistent with a reception environment.
Monday-Wednesday 9.30am - 1pm
These hours may be covered by one volunteer or shared amongst a few.
Tasks include:
- Responding to phone calls and directing calls to the appropriate personnel.- Meeting and greeting with clients, interpret their needs, screening and prioritising client appointments through an assessment of client needs and urgency of response.- Negotiating with clients in the event of disruptions at the reception.- Performing basic administration functions such as data entry, filing, archiving and other tasks associated with the role.- Answering phone calls politely.- Refering people to appropriate Salvation Army services. Following up with Manager if unsure.- Monitoring and rectifying any health and safety concerns within the centre. Escalate issues that cannot be attended to the Manager.
