The role As the Principal Policy Officer, you will coordinate and undertake a range of system planning, infrastructure, policy or strategic projects and activities related to mental health alcohol and other drug issues to support successful implementation of Queensland Health led initiatives and priorities of Better Care Together - a plan for Queensland's state-funded mental health alcohol and other drug services to 2027 and the Shifting Minds: Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategic Plan 2018-23).

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Lead and manage specified planning, infrastructure, or policy projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies.
- Liaise, consult and develop partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders and senior management on specific issues relating to the implementation of projects and/or planning activities.
- Prepare high level briefing documents, submissions, correspondence and reports including project management plans and materials.

**The successful personYou will have**:

- Ability to manage system-wide and state-wide projects and achieve expected deliverables.
- High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills and capacity to develop reports, discussion papers and submissions.
- High level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the mental health alcohol and drug treatment service system including the complex interrelationships within the government, non-government and private sectors.
