**INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS**
Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.
**Early Childhood Educator - Diploma (Kindergarten)**
**Hourly Rate**:$30.58 to $32.05 (rate dependent on level of experience)

Rodney Neighbourhood Kindergarten is situated in Mooroopna and delivers a Steiner inspired curriculum. The Kindergarten provides a healthy environment whereby children participate in meaningful tasks of everyday life; cooking, hand work, arts and crafts and gardening. We aim to support each individual child with an understanding of their stage in childhood development. We encourage each child’s unique gifts and emerging potentials.
The program has a unique and distinctive approach to educating children, aiming to enable each stage of growth to be fully and vividly enjoyed and experienced.
We are seeking an educator whose personal philosophy aligns with Steiner Education and a commitment to professionalism in their work.
This position is for 2 days per week, Wednesday and Thursday working 7 hours and 20 minutes each day.
The position involves working with the kindergarten teacher in supporting the planning, implementation and assessment of a quality educational program for all children. Our program must be grounded and inspired in the philosophy and principles of Steiner Education. The successful educator will work creatively in a cohesive team environment, always seeking to find a fresh connection to the developmental needs of the children and to recognise readiness for learning.
The successful educator will have the ability to communicate respectfully with families and children and will work as part of our Early Years Team.
Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent recognised by ACECQA)
- Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
- Current CPR - HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
- Current and valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Protecting Children - Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood
