**Manager Casework**

**An ongoing role is now available in Newcastle and we are looking for a dedicated leader to join the Joint Child Protection Response (JCPR) team in Newcastle**

**About us**
The NSW Department of Communities & Justice (DCJ) delivers vital programs and services designed to help vulnerable children, young people and their families.
The Joint Child Protection Response (JCPR) Program links the risk assessment and protective intervention of DCJ with the criminal investigation of NSW Police and the forensic medical, treatment and support services of NSW Health. The program delivers a multidisciplinary response to serious child abuse matters across NSW.
**About the role**
You will lead and supervise a team of caseworkers and work in collaboration with the NSW Police and NSW Health to provide coordinated services to vulnerable children, young people and families.
You will lead by example and demonstrate the principles of the Joint Child Protection Response Program and work to meet program objectives. You will value interagency partnership, workforce diversity and prioritise safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.
You will ensure that children and young people remain the focus of assessments and make decisions, to ensure they are protected from further trauma and that they receive protective, therapeutic and other support services as determined.
**About you**
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology,Social Science or Welfare or a related discipline
- experience leading and managing a team
- a degree in social work, social welfare or a related discipline
- a valid driver licence

**Question 1**
This role requires strong networking and effective collaboration with NSW Police and NSW Health to deliver high quality child protection services to vulnerable children, young people and families. How have you demonstrated capabilities to build relationships with stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for clients? What did you learn, what were the challenges and what would you differently?
**Question 2**
In this role, you will manage a team of caseworkers providing services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and their families. Can you please tell us about your understanding of the experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and how you will influence your caseworkers in responding to these families to achieve better outcomes?
**A recruitment pool may be created to fill similar temporary & ongoing opportunities if and as they arise.**
In accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013, your assessment may also include additional online capability testing, skills testing or work samples
You will also be asked to complete a Health Declaration Form in later stages of the assessment process.
