**YMCA Vocational Schools**, part of The Y Brisbane, provide adjusted education programs and vocational training to secondary students, who would benefit from an alternative learning environment.

**Our Clem Jones Junior Campus** provides students with practical, flexible and tailored education program with to enhancing their skills, at a pace that encourages school attendance, engagement and confidence. The facility also has amenities including access to training facilities and programs, catering facilities & cooking events, two (2) sporting ovals and more to further enhance individual educational needs.

The school mission is to positively engage young people in education and lifelong learning, empowering them to become well-rounded, confident and healthy human beings.

We are interested in recruiting **1 permanent, full-time Teacher **to join our dedicated multi-disciplinary team at the **YMCA** **Clem Jones Junior Campus **located in** Kingston.**

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The responsibilities of a **Teacher** are to deliver academic and wellbeing programs to students, support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students and also support the head of campus in the operation of the campus to achieve educational, wellbeing and vocational objectives. Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited too):

- Create and deliver lessons in accordance with the guidelines and parameters provided by the Head of Curriculum and School’s Wellbeing framework
- Develop and deliver individualised lessons to the needs of each student so that students are engaged and able to maximise their learning outcomes
- Participate in the process to regularly monitor the effectiveness of program delivery through observation and evaluation
- Respond to the needs of students, their parent and/or carer and wider community to ensure the quality of service meets agreed standards
- Advocate on behalf of and for young people in community planning committees where appropriate and needed

**SELECTION CRITERIA**
- Hold a relevant Bachelor degree, current Queensland Teacher Registration, First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualifications;
- Be able to demonstrate practical experience teaching and supporting young people and the development of positive student relationships;
- Work successfully in a small team and within the schools' philosophy & ethos to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes.

- Our working year is 195 days total with 25 of those days being non-contact time focusing on: 15 days professional development and 10 days focused on student individualised planning.
- Our school days are 9.30 - 1pm Monday & Friday, & 9.30 - 2.30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, &Thursday.
