An opportunity is currently available for an Assistant Category Manager to join one of Australia leading pharmaceutical retail providers on a F/T, permanent basis.

**The Role**:
Reporting to the Category Manager, the Assistant Category Manager will assist with defining the role of the categories within their skincare portfolio and the wider merchandise strategy and assist with the strategies to deliver against the growth plans. The Assistant Category Manager will work closely with the Category Managers and promotions team. All promotions, reviews and private label detailed data and product outputs to the network partners are generated by the Assistant Category Manager.

The Assistant Category Manager will adhere to the brand guidelines & customer brand campaigns.

The Assistant Category Manager will support the Category Manager in the “best in class” customer offer by understanding and adhering to merchandise policy, pricing rules, promotional guidelines, ranging and planogram frameworks and adherence to partners.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Drive the process of category development schedule to ensure all deadlines are met
- Execute pricing strategy in system
- Execute promotional activities, including promotional submissions, proofing and mapping of all promotional activity
- Finalise with Category Manager offers in each catalogue including product, pricing and offer
- Forecast promotional stock for the promotional program and manage stock levels across the promotional periods
- Ensure all partner support queries are responded to within Network Partner charter commitments
- Manage the stores communication specific to the category teams’ responsibilities
- Coordinate orders and promotions of opportunity buys as per approval from Category Manager
- Build & cultivate productive relationships with stores, suppliers and distributors.
- Execute the promotional programs for assigned categories to ensure that there is a year on year growth plan in sales and gross profit for network partners

**Key Requirements**:

- Formal qualifications in commerce, business management or marketing - preferred
- Previous experience in either buying, merchandising or category management preferred.
- Perseverance & drive for results
- Expert negotiation skills
- Strong internal & external relationship & stakeholder management
- Strategic thinking & planning skills
- Excellent and fully proficient in EXCEL (V-Lookups, Pivot tables and formulas)
- An excellent communicator
- Strong attention to detail
