**THIS IS A RARE OPPORTUNITY** to join a small boutique centre. You will be **sharing** the daily planning and documentation **with 2 other ECE teachers with** **only 26 preschool aged children in the classroom.** Team teaching **greatly reduces your workload and increases your day-to-day enjoyment. **You will have **non-contact time** for planning and documenting, you will be professionally supported by experienced teachers and you will have professional development opportunities. Discover the incredible difference that an authentic Montessori program offers. We will help you to understand how the Montessori environment leads children to become responsible, polite, independent and engaged. WE HOPE TO INSPIRE YOU TO LEARN MORE.
About us:
Little Oxford Montessori is a boutique early learning and care environment situated at 18 Trimmer Terrace, Unley. We have large outdoor spaces with an edible garden and a nature play area. Children from 6 months of age can attend.
**We have a maximum of only 55 children per day across the entire centre** with a close-knit team of 12 permanent educators, and we use the Montessori method to guide our practices. This means that we have an emphasis on treating each child with respect, empowering them to develop independence, designing inspiring learning environments, and encouraging child-directed exploration and engagement. Family values are at the core of everything we do and we are blessed to work with loyal and emotionally-invested families.
We aim to provide a program that stands apart from traditional childcare models by providing truly personalised care for every child. Educators have professional support and **TIME **to observe, teach and reflect.
**We have a close-knit community, with the small size of our centres being a niche attraction for families. This means you can develop meaningful connections with your colleagues, children and parents.**
About you:
You might be the perfect fit for this role if you:
- Are genuinely passionate about being an educator,
- Have experience delivering individualised programs and care,
- Feel enthusiastic about partnering with parents to support their journey and include their perspectives,
- Have energy, humour, warmth, creativity and compassion that you wish to share with young children and your colleagues,
- Love working within a close-knit team to engage in reciprocal and respectful collaboration,
- Feel intrinsically motivated and rewarded by making a difference in a child's life.
- Can commit to a permanent full-time position to provide security and consistency for children who are developing relational attachments. (Part-time position(s) will be considered if we find the right person/people).
If this sounds like you, we'd love to meet you
The requirements:
We are seeking a permanent addition to our team and we are ideally seeking a full-time educator, but if the 'right person' needed more flexible hours we would consider a part-time role. Please indicate if you have a preference for full-time or part-time.
**Applicants must have experience and possess either a Certificate, Diploma or a Bachelor/Masters of Education (Early Childhood).**
**Montessori experience or training is highly-regarded,** **but not required.** Successful applicants who do not have Montessori qualifications will be provided with an initial induction to help you understand the fundamentals and will be approached to undertake further supported study after the first 12 months of your employment if you are eager to deepen your knowledge. This is an exciting opportunity to learn something new and expand your professional development.
The Benefits:
- You will join an exciting team of high-quality educators and you will be connected to a passionate group of owners and mentors with extensive experience in providing exceptional early learning environments,
- We aim to provide you with stability, opportunity, and excellent working conditions, including a strong emphasis on promoting well-being and access to meaningful professional development.
- Little Oxford’s physical environment is beautiful, light, and spacious, with delightful classrooms, multipurpose spaces, a nature block in addition to our garden and playground, and three separate office areas to provide a non-contact space for teaching staff, a focused room for our administrator and a private office for our Director.
- Our family-friendly approach comes from the heart, having a founder (Barbara Langford) who started her first Montessori centre for her own daughter Jessica, 33 years ago. The success and reputation that has followed Barbara since that time is a testament to the quality she provides in her centres.
- We have strong protocols for Covid risk minimisation, and we pride ourselves on managing this aspect of life to the best of our ability to protect the health and well-being of our community.
