**An exciting opportunity exists for an Advanced Child Protection Practitioner to join our Intake team in Geelong.**
**THE ROLE**
The Advanced Child Protection Practitioner receives and assesses reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people. They undertake investigations and develop plans to bring about the changes necessary to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people and to promote the achievement of case plan objectives within specified timeframes. This may include taking matters to court.
**DUTIES INCLUDE**
- receiving reports of alleged child maltreatment often by phone, correspondence, or face to face
- attending intake case conferences, where required
- conducting initial risk assessment based on report details
- conducting follow-up phone calls with professionals to verify and gather information in relation to reports
- referring cases, where applicable, to community service organisations.
