**The Role**
The Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Office is seeking two APS6 Research and Evaluation officers. These positions are responsible for designing and undertaking research and evaluation projects for 1800 SeMPRO using mixed methodologies and collecting and analysing data from across Defence.

As an APS6 Research and Evaluation Officer in Defence you will be producing research and evaluation products to inform policy and evidence based decision making in Defence.

This will include:

- Conducting data assessment and management;
- Analysing quantitative and qualitative data;
- Planning and managing your workflows and resources to achieve milestones and expected outcomes;
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes; and
- Generating briefs, minutes, reports, presentations and other Defence documentation.

**About our Team**
The Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Office (1800 SeMPRO) provides support, advice and resources to individuals who have been impacted by sexual misconduct, and works to prevent sexual misconduct in Defence workplaces. SeMPRO is a lead organisation in Australia and internationally in our efforts to implement cultural change involving this important social issue.

1800 SeMPRO works in three key ways to do this:

- Providing client support to people impacted by sexual misconduct;
- Providing education and training about sexual misconduct prevention and response to Defence personnel; and
- Providing expert advice to shape Defence policy and providing accessible resources that aid those impacted by sexual misconduct, their supporters, and their managers.

Research and Evaluation is a small team which focuses on providing evidence-based advice to decision makers. The team is responsible for collecting and analysing data received across Defence, providing advice based on internal and external research reports, reporting and analytics of 1800 SeMPRO use data, and undertaking evaluations of SeMPRO products and services.

Professionally, you enjoy engaging with a variety research and evaluation processes, types of data, conundrums, and producing high quality research outputs. You also enjoy pursuing your own professional development and sharing your skills with the team. You are willing to engage with trauma-informed and person-centered principles in the context of your work in 1800 SeMPRO.

Ideally, you have or you can rapidly acquire:

- Research and/or evaluation skills and experience, including methodological, analytical or other technical experience that contribute to designing and delivering high-quality applied research and evaluation projects;
- Developed communication and engagement skills that support collaboration with key stakeholders and deliver knowledge that influence change;
- Developed organisational skills that allow you to manage competing priorities and under broad direction make decisions to achieve objectives; and
- Ability to engage with team wellbeing and foster effective team performance.
