Hyperspectral Geologist

Corescan is a technology driven, mining services company, specialising in the acquisition and processing of hyperspectral imagery of drill core and other geological samples for mining, oil and gas and geotechnical industries. The company has offices across Australia, South America and North America.

**Duties**:

- Processing and interpretation of hyperspectral data of drill core, RC chips and other geological samples
- Providing quality control of hyperspectral data cubes and associated sensor and drill core data
- Preparation of mineralogical maps and images
- Carrying out data processing workflows covering data collection, quality control and mineral processing
- Preparation of progress reports and client presentations
- Providing continued development of the Company’s spectral / mineralogical processing capability
- Working with and contributing to the Corescan geology to learn and improve spectral
- interpretation techniques and the understanding of the mineralogy of various economic deposits
- Communicating with clients on results and reports
- Uploading, reviewing and managing drill core data stored on Coreshed (Corescan’s online drill core data platform).

**Academic qualifications**

**Other preferred experience**
- Experience in hyperspectral methods
- Experience in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
