About the Opportunity
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and driven Assistant Store Manager (2IC) to join our dynamic retail team at DFO Essendon. This is more than just a retail role — it’s a stepping stone into leadership within a progressive, values-driven brand.
As a 2IC, you’ll work side-by-side with the Store Business Manager to inspire and lead a high-performing team, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and help drive the business forward. You’ll gain hands-on experience across every aspect of retail operations — from coaching and mentoring to sales, styling, and store presentation.
This is the ideal role for someone looking to fast-track their career in retail leadership with clear pathways for progression.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Store Business Manager in day-to-day operations and decision making
- Leading, coaching, and developing your team to perform at their best
- Delivering exceptional customer experiences and expert styling advice
- Driving store sales, KPIs, and profitability
- Managing stock control, visual merchandising, and rostering
- Stepping up as Store Manager when required

- Retail leadership or supervisory experience

- Strong communication, coaching, and organisational skills
- Experience working towards KPIs and targets
- Apparel or lifestyle retail experience (preferred, but not essential)
