Become a "Transition Maker", join the Group to experience fulfilling opportunities and build a career that suits you. **The Role** We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hydrogeology Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the Hazelwood mine and contribute to the technical aspects of EES and DMRP. This role will oversee these activities in collaboration with our Technical Services and Project Management teams, while also leading the Hydrogeological Program to ensure contemporary systems and risk controls are in place. You will be instrumental in evolving hydrogeological strategies and plans, contributing to the Ground Control Management Plan and associated documentation to adapt to the dynamic geotechnical environment. **Key Responsibilities** - Provide expert technical advice on mine and rehabilitation activities to ensure site safety and stability. - Lead routine monitoring and analysis, including groundwater routines, weight balance analysis, and data management. - Scope and coordinate drilling activities and technical studies contributing to mine infrastructure rehabilitation and regulatory processes, such as the Environmental Effects Statement and Declared Mines Rehabilitation Plan. - Manage and review consultant designs and proposals. - Identify geotechnical and hydrogeological hazards, implementing effective risk management controls and response plans. - Ensure compliance through trend tracking and proactive response to non-compliance events. **About You** **Qualifications & Education** - Tertiary degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering, Geology or a relevant discipline. **Skills & Experience** - Proven expertise in hydrogeology within a mining context, with a strong grasp of groundwater systems and geotechnical interactions. - In-depth technical understanding of mining operations specific to the Latrobe Valley. - Familiarity with the regulatory landscape governing mining and environmental management in the Latrobe Valley region. - Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry-standard hydrogeological software tools. - Demonstrated capability in financial oversight, including budget forecasting, expenditure tracking, and efficient resource allocation to support program success **Business Unit**:GBU Flexible Gen & Retail **Division**:Thermal AMEA - Australia - Regional **Legal Entity**:HAZELWOOD POWER PARTNERSHIP **Professional Experience**:Skilled ( >3 experience
