Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking a forward-thinking and influential Grants Coordinator that will also provide Executive support to the Director of Sustainable Development.

This combined role will see you working across the organisation to shape and deliver Greater Shepparton City Council’s strategies that influence key-decision makers and attract government investment. You’ll also oversee Council’s external grants program and community grant programs.

This role also dually reports to the Director of Sustainable Development (primarily) and to the Manager Economic Development in supporting high level administration of Council’s Grant Community Grant Programs, external funding programs, as well as building upon the performance of Council to achieve significant external funding towards projects and activities and coordinate high level funding submissions.

This position is also responsible for providing high level administrative support to the Director and Managers within the Sustainable Development Directorate.

The successful applicant will**:

- Be an excellent communicator and have the ability to work effectively and successfully with the Director, Management and staff, both within, and external to, the Sustainable Development Directorate.
- Be a motivated self-starter who uses their initiative and behaves in a proactive way.
- Have exceptional problem solving skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively.
- Have proven verbal and written communication skills, and possess advanced computer skills.
