Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and motivated person for the position of Youth and Inclusion Officer. Are you passionate about working collaboratively with young people, LGBTIQA+, and diverse communities across Greater Shepparton? If so, this role is for you.

Reporting to the Coordinator of Diverse Communities, the Youth and Inclusion Officer is required to work in collaboration with community members, agencies, education providers, government bodies, and Council to lead the delivery of projects, programs and events which deliver positive outcomes for diverse communities.
- A strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice, with an understanding of the challenges and strengths of young people, LGBTIQA+ and diverse communities in Greater Shepparton.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire groups and build strong relationships across sectors.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a creative mindset for developing new initiatives that support inclusion and participation.
- Proven experience in the delivery of projects within scope, timelines, budget and reporting requirements.
