To effectively lead the Additive Manufacturing team in the manufacture of high-quality components vital to the success of Gilmour Space Technologies. Ensuring effective communication with all team members to ensure duties are performed to the highest standards in an efficient and timely manner whilst adhering to Gilmour Space production schedules, policies, and procedures.

**Duties Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive, they represent examples of the work performed by this position.
- To lead from the front and drive the Additive Manufacturing department, liaising closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Production Planning to fulfill the performance criteria of the product, the process and the build schedule
- Perform work accurately and to a high standard, according to drawings, procedures, specifications, and instructions
- Work with the Human Resources team to grow the Gilmour Space team as required from recruitment through to training and development of the team
- Ensure that the department is adequately and sufficiently serviced from multiple aspects such as workload planning, consumables ordering, services ensuring a lean operation is achieved
- Ensures that the leadership team and stakeholders are kept informed of critical path progress of plans and any variations
- Coordinate with team members in solving technical problems as they arise
- Ability to work outside of work hours, as necessary, during certain build phases
- Ensure quality control standards are adhered to at all times
- To communicate with all team members and managers to ensure positive working relationships and adherence to the daily operational requirement
- Use precision inspection equipment - height gauges, micrometres, callipers, etc
- Fabricate, repair, and assemble hardware/equipment needed
- Develop novel ways site wide to streamline processes and increase the reliability of operations
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner
- Hands on operations with both large and small fragile assemblies
- Use various mechanical tools and equipment without instruction
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and document manufacturing activities
- Ensure permitted preventative maintenance is performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
- Understand engineering (CAD) drawings and models, verifying dimensions and specifications
- Other duties as requested by Management

**Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- Level 3 Trade qualification or similar trade
- In-depth knowledge of Additive Manufacturing
- 2+ years in a similar leadership role
- NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred

**Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- 5+ years’ experience within a manufacturing industry
- Strong leadership background
- Efficient Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools & power tools
- Thorough knowledge of current and future Additive Manufacturing techniques and technologies
- Experience in aircraft/aerospace assembly desirable
