About the role
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) assists with the provision of patient centred nursing care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Midwife (RM). Work may be overseen by an enrolled nurse. This role reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager of the Older Persons Mental Health Unit.
About you
- Work within the scope of practice as an Assistant in Nursing.
- Accepting accountability for the provision of direct and individualised high level of care for patients while remaining answerable to the RN.
- Organising and performing delegated activities for the patient from the care plan as delegated by the RN.
- Supports and respects the multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively and demonstrating a commitment to achieve common goals.
- Participate in relevant educational and/or quality improvement activities that enhance personal knowledge and contribute to improving clinical services

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
