**The Role**:
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive Legal Secretary / Practice Manager to join our team. This role is essential to the day-to-day operations of the firm, combining high-level administrative support with office and practice management responsibilities. A part time junior secretary assists the role.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Professionally answering phone calls and managing messages
- Managing lawyer diaries and scheduling appointments and court appearances.
- Assisting with preparation of legal documents and correspondence
- Overseeing office supplies and ordering as needed
- Supporting basic HR functions and staff coordination, including managing law clerks and junior secretary hours and tasks
- Handling general administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and document management
- Managing trust accounting and client billing processes.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a legal secretary and/or practice management role (criminal law experience preferred)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Excellent written, verbal communication and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite [365] and legal practice management software
- Strong computer skills, fast and accurate typing
- Experience using **Actionstep** is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- A proactive and professional attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
