Our client, an industry leading global transport and logistics company has an exciting opportunity for a HSE Specialist to be based out of Melbourne across 13 national sites. They're looking for someone with 3-5 years' experience, looking to take the next step in the HSEQ career in the transport, logistics and warehousing sector.

Travel will be once/ month, and the role offers endless career pathways with a Publicly Listed, highly recognised brand in international sea and air freight.

**The role**:
To ensure that national Health, Safety and Environmental projects are in line with contractual commitments, regulations, global and regional guidelines. To take responsibility for providing advice and administrative assistance to local management, including QSHE staff and operational managers in all matters related to Health & Safety and Environment.

**Responsibilities include**:
**National Responsibilities**:
Support the QSHE Manager with execution of functional strategies and standards in the country (ISO 14001, 45001)

Ensuring BU/FU compliance to Health & Safety, Environment & Chain of Responsibility legislative requirements

Initiate gap analysis to validate Health & Safety/Environment system effectiveness and lead implementation of system & training improvements

Maintain & coordinate QSHE Induction, Health & Safety and Environment training programs for management and employees

Keeping abreast of current and emerging Health & Safety and Environment/Sustainability best practices

Other QSHE related tasks as directed by the QSHE Manager

Respond and advise the business and external stakeholders on HSE queries

**State Responsibilities & activities (VIC,SA,WA)**

Carrying out regular site inspections to check procedures and hazard/incident actions are properly implemented and effective

Support the QSHE Manager with completion of internal QSHE, supplier & customer audit programs

Participating in QSHE committee meetings and work with local committees to ensure the maintenance of system improvements

Coordinate and participate in external audits & regulator site visits as required

Support BU/FU with Health + Safety incident investigations, hazard and risk mitigation activities and problem resolution

To complete HSE projects as required

**Requirements for the role**:
Previous experience in HSEQ role ideally in manufacturing, warehousing, transport

Relevant Qualifications in EHS

Must demonstrate a high level of communication and collaboration with workers across all levels

Continuous improvement mindset

Time management and effective communication and negotiation skills are critical to the role
