At Ormiston State School we recognise that learning is inextricably linked to wellbeing. Positive wellbeing is dependent on a sense of belonging and respect. This requires a belief that personal characteristics, capabilities and individual needs are understood and considered. Therefore, learning experiences need to be real life, inclusive, engaging and purposeful. These are integral foundations to successful learning and cannot be separated from the curriculum or pedagogical practices.
The successful applicant will have the responsibility for supporting the engagement and learning of students through collaborative planning with classroom teachers and school leaders, providing advice and resources to support the different learning needs of identified students and co teaching to support the learning needs of the students, demonstrated knowledge of creating and updating Personalised Learning Plans, experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), be prepared to support students with complex needs and willing to perform health management procedures for students.
