Yarra Ranges Council has established an Audit & Risk Management Committee to support Council in discharging its oversight responsibilities related to financial and performance reporting, risk management, fraud prevention, internal controls, and assurance activities including internal and external audit and compliance with its policies and legal obligations. It performs its role by monitoring, reviewing, endorsing and advising Council on matters set out in its charter, which can be found within the position description linked below.

One of the three independent member positions on the Committee has become vacant. As a result, expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill this position.

We are seeking an experienced Independent Audit and Risk Management Committee Member with a focus on the below skillsets:

- Local Government (Strong preference) or other public sector experience
- Risk, governance, and/or finance expertise
- Strong experience and/or qualifications in accounting and financial management
- Internal and/or external audit experience
- Executive management experience and appreciation for operational priorities
