Orchard Hills, Australia RATP Dev Australia Full time

**About Us**:
RATP Dev Western Sydney Airport (RDWSA) is a subsidiary of the RATP Group, global leader in high-capacity urban rail and the world's third largest public transport operator.

Our 25,000 people design, operate, maintain and modernize urban and interurban transportation networks. We serve more than 100 cities in 17 countries, delivering tailored mobility solutions that address each community’s unique environmental, social, and economic challenges.

We build, deliver and commit for the best of public transport - every day, everywhere, for everybody - to make it the natural choice for cities and passengers.

As a contractor to the Australian Federal and NSW governments, Parklife Metro is leading a transformative metro project connecting St Marys to Bradfield, linking with the new Western Sydney Airport.

RDWSA will proudly operate and maintain 6 new stations, 12 metro trains, core rail systems, and a state-of-the-art stabling and maintenance facility at Orchard Hills on the Western Sydney Airport metro line for 15 years after the line has become operational.

**About the Role**:
The Infrastructure Maintenance Vehicle Machine Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of Infrastructure Maintenance Vehicles (IMVs), plant, and machinery across both the depot and the wider rail network. This 24/7 rostered, hands-on position supports the maintenance program by preparing, operating, and managing specialised equipment to keep the network running smoothly and safely.

Key responsibilities include:

- Operate the fleet of IMVs, including the Battery Electric Locomotive, Tunnel Cleaning Vehicle, Rail Grinding Vehicle, Multi-Measurement Vehicle, and Hi-Rail Multi-Purpose Vehicle.
- Operate depot working equipment and machinery, such as the train wash, cranes, and other depot-based plant.
- Prepare and configure IMVs for maintenance activities, conducting pre-start checks, and ensuring vehicles are in safe working order prior to deployment.
- Shunt IMVs and wagons into the correct consists based on scheduled maintenance tasks, in coordination with depot and operations teams.
- Support the Depot Supervisor with daily depot operations, including inspections, movements of rollingstock and hi-rail, and other maintenance support activities.
- Assist maintenance crews by operating IMVs, plant, and machinery to facilitate network maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of works.
- Perform low-level maintenance and inspections on IMVs, lodge work orders, and report defects to maintain operational readiness.
- Collaborate with maintenance partners and the depot controller to coordinate IMV movements and maintenance scheduling.
- Ensure all operations are performed safely, complying with rail network regulations, RATP Dev procedures, and safety management systems.

**About You**:
You’re an experienced machinery or rail operations professional who takes pride in safe, precise, and efficient work. You enjoy hands-on roles, operating specialist plant and equipment, and contributing to the smooth running of a complex transport environment.

You’ll bring:

- Proven experience operating heavy machinery or rail infrastructure vehicles, ideally within a maintenance or operational setting.
- Familiarity with depot operations, shunting, and the movement of rollingstock or maintenance vehicles.
- A Cert IV in Train Driving and preferably a Cert II in Rail Infrastructure.
- A strong focus on safety and compliance, with the discipline to follow procedures and maintain high operational standards.
- The ability to work collaboratively with maintenance, depot, and operations teams to achieve shared outcomes.
- Attention to detail and pride in ensuring equipment is maintained, logged, and presented to the highest standard.
- A proactive approach to identifying issues, escalating where required, and supporting continuous improvement in daily operations.
- A valid NSW Manual C Class Driver’s Licence (High Risk Work Licence and Rail Plant & Equipment tickets highly regarded).

You’ll be someone who thrives in an environment where every shift counts - supporting safe, reliable network operations through teamwork, professionalism, and care.
